Recife Cidade Parque
This project explores the transformation of the Beberibe River in Recife, Brazil, through a five-minute video that communicates design strategies and spatial narratives. The work focuses on how reorganising land use and improving accessibility can shift the river from a fragmented boundary into an ecological and social connector between Recife and Olinda. The video is structured around context, existing conditions, design intervention, and projected outcomes, using subtitles, visual sequencing, and real-life scenarios to clearly convey complex urban issues such as flooding, informal settlements, and limited public access.

What I learnt in this project:
Critical Reflection- Recognising the balance between explaining design reasoning and clearly presenting project outcomes and benefits.
Multilingual Communication-Working with Portuguese text and subtitles, learning how to communicate ideas across language barriers effectively.
Site Interpretation & Remote Analysis- Analysing a site in Brazil from a distance, understanding environmental and social conditions through research, mapping, and video sources.
Technical vs Narrative Balance-Reflecting on different presentation styles and understanding how to communicate technical content in a clear and direct way.
Urban Design Thinking- Developing strategies to improve accessibility, ecological performance, and social connection through interventions such as floodable parks, mangrove restoration, and housing reorganisation.
Video Communication & Storytelling- Structuring a clear narrative through a five-minute video, translating complex urban design ideas into an engaging and understandable visual sequence.
