The Impact of Mixed-Income Housing in London

This research explored how mixed-income housing can foster inclusive, sustainable communities. Using case studies, surveys, and interviews, I investigated four themes—design, longevity, affordability, and social cohesion—to understand how architecture and planning can balance equity with urban growth.

What I learnt in this project:

Collaboration -Engaging with residents, stakeholders, and peers to gather diverse perspectives and integrate them into the research.

Design & Planning -Applying urban design principles to evaluate how housing form, shared spaces, and tenure mix impact community life.

Research & Analysis -Conducting in-depth literature review, case studies, surveys, and interviews to assess housing models and their outcomes.

Critical Thinking -Balancing theory with lived experiences to identify both opportunities and challenges in mixed-income housing.

Communication -Translating complex planning, policy, and design concepts into accessible findings for academic and professional audiences.
