How do redevelopment's transitional stages shape whether urban ecology is lived, postponed, or excluded?
The essay analyses literature and cases with a temporal and experien- tial framework understanding the value and inclusivity of urban ecology. Spaces are assessed based on whether they allow people to engage meaningfully in the present, rather than deferring interaction until future redevelopment. This framework guides the comparative analysis of Bromley-by-Bow and Seoul’s Oil Tank, focusing on access, sensory engagement, and social collaboration.
