Faringdon Old Inafant School
Redevelopment of the old infant school site in Faringdon into a vibrant new community featuring a public green area, art centre, homes, and shops. As a group, we focused on analysing the existing site conditions and local context, providing insights and data that informed the final design process.
I independently developed the master plan, integrating key elements such as homes, shops, public green space, and an art centre to create a vibrant, mixed-use community. The design emphasised community engagement by strategically placing the public green area as a central hub, encouraging outdoor activities and social interaction.
What I learnt in this project:
Analysis and Context Understanding- Leveraged the group analysis to understand the site’s potential and constraints, informing the design process.
Master Planning- Independently creating a cohesive master plan that integrates residential, commercial, and public spaces into a well-functioning community.
Modelling and Visualisation- Developed physical and digital models to effectively communicate the design vision to stakeholders and the community.
Sustainable Design- Focused on creating a sustainable, vibrant community that blends green spaces, cultural facilities, and commercial hubs for a balanced urban experience.
