Spatial Radio : Yesterday's Weather
This project explored how radio production works through a collaborative live broadcast exercise. Wwe created and produced content for the radio.
During the project, we developed skills in podcasting, live broadcasting, and digital media production while working under real-time conditions. I was part of the technician team, where I helped manage the broadcasting process and supported the live video stream. The experience taught me the importance of communication, coordination, and problem-solving especially when working on live production.
What I learnt in this project:
Collaboration -Working in small teams to plan and produce radio content, coordinating with presenters, producers, and technical crew to ensure the broadcast ran smoothly.
Technical Production -Assisting with the technical side of the broadcast, including helping manage the radio board and supporting the live video stream during the programme.
Live Problem Solving -Responding quickly to challenges during the live broadcast, learning how to stay calm and find solutions in real time.
Media & Podcast Production -Understanding how radio content can be recorded, produced, and shared as podcasts for wider audiences.
Communication -Developing clear communication with team members during the live broadcast to ensure timing, audio, and transitions worked effectively.
